Don't Buy Dell Computers

Boycott Dell.
Punish Dell for eliminating thousands of jobs here and shipping jobs overseas to pay international workers starvation wages.
Support fair wages for all workers. That is the only way to stop off-shoring. Let corporate profiteers know that paying their muckity-mucks gazillions and workers peanuts will not get them customers.
I am bloody sick of corporate conglomerates that pitch their wares to US residents--and jack up the cost of items through that advertising-- and care nothing about the communities that grow their profits.
It is not patriotic to line the pockets of US bosses especially when they employ fewer and fewer US workers.
Don't help Dell become more profitable. Don't buy their computers. Write and tell them we will look far and wide for alternatives to the Dell Brand because they are shipping jobs offshore. Let them know we will spread this boycott far and wide.
Dell, the world's second largest PC maker, has announced that it is cutting 8,800 jobs by closing its Austin, Texas desktop computer manufacturing plant.
From Reuters:
The company said it had already eliminated 3,200 of the targeted jobs.
The Round Rock, Texas-based company also said it would reduce costs in design, manufacturing, logistics, materials and operating expenses.
In other words, they want to go for cheap labor and resources at non-union shops overseas where there are no OSHA or environmental laws or health insurance or other benefits that US workers used to enjoy, thanks to a strong tradition of unionism.
When US manufacturers cut jobs here, then we should have zero loyalty to them. Buy European. Or Asian. Or South American. Or African. Buy anything but from US bosses who employ fewer and fewer US workers.
For example, buy Medion, which is the most widely distributed PC in Europe because it is most affordable and reliable. Buy from Medion USA.
Call or write Medion USA and tell them to start selling many more computers in the US market. Whenever they sell (usually at Aldi, occasionally at Costco, Tigerdirect, Bestbuy, or CompUSA) they sell out nearly the same day because they offer good value for not so much $$.
I am on a personal campaign to try to convince Medion USA to begin distributing its computers more widely in the US. I've been using a Medion laptop since 2005 and desktop since 2003 and highly recommend both. And, I use big fat memory hogging software.
Medion PCs are hard as hell to find and buy but are of very good quality and the service is good once you own one. Their management buys the best products at smart prices and then has what they buy assembled, I guess, in some dirt cheap plant though I am not certain. Medion sells good quality and does not advertise. People who know the brand buy it right away when it is available. Medion passes along its savings from not advertising to consumers.
I don't think anybody should give Dell another dime because they are lowering quality and off-shoring jobs.
If we have to buy computers built somewhere else, then give the business to anybody else, and not to Dell bosses who are actively firing thousands of Texas workers.
Write to Medion USA and ask them to start distributing widely in the US.

Or call and ask when they are selling again in the US, and encourage them to make it soon.

from medion web site:
For over twenty years, Medion has delivered high quality technology with exceptional value. A European leader in multimedia PCs and consumer electronics, we are now partnering with major retailers to bring our robust, reliable, and cost-effective products to the United States.
Maybe you have other ideas to suggest on where to buy PCs that are not Dell.
Or you might have other ideas on ways to punish companies like Dell who offshore jobs.
All that I ask is you don't turn this into a relgious PC vs. Mac war. Assume we are talking PCs here. Thanks.
