THE FINAL MONETIZATION

Tue Jun 03, 2008 at 02:10:23 AM PDT

"Superclass: The Global Power Elite and the World They Are Making" is also the title of a book written by David Rothkopf who has identified "just over 6,000" people who match his definition of the superclass (with the help of his researchers)- and described its ability to rule the lives of billions of people worldwide.... Sure, there are 'good guys" among the superclasss, but they are clearly not winning... you have been warned!

Ickes: Hillary won't quit 'till Obama helps with her debt w/Poll

Mon Jun 02, 2008 at 03:50:59 PM PDT

Slimy Ickes does some double-talk. After asserting that Hillary has no plans to quit after Tuesdays' primaries, he implies different to Hillary's contributors:

In a conference call with major donors this afternoon, contributors were told by Harold Ickes, a senior Clinton adviser, that she was unlikely to pull out of the race until the issue of her massive debts was resolved. The New York senator has lent her own campaign at least $11.5 million.

Let’s Just Buy Her Out !

Sat May 10, 2008 at 09:16:34 AM PDT

By that I mean, progressives should raise 12 million and quietly dangle it in front of Clinton. That’s about how much she’s loaned her campaign.

We pay off all your debts. You commit to x number of campaign days at Obama’s side.

$10 Million Smakeroos!

Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 08:20:04 AM PDT

Good news from the Washington Post:

INDIANAPOLIS. April 23 -- Coming off a convincing win in Pennsylvania, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton recorded her best fundraising day of the campaign, and she will need the money for what is being framed as a do-or-die contest in Indiana two weeks from now.

More than $10 million flowed into Clinton's nearly empty campaign accounts after the results of Pennsylvania's Democratic primary were announced Tuesday night, her aides said. That amount represented half of what she raised in all of March.

Twenty theses about money

Since almost all of you forgot to read my diary of last February about Hutchinson, Mellor, and Olsen's The Politics of Money, I'm going to try to encapsulate the wisdom contained therein in a series of bullet points, with links added.  Maybe I was too long-winded back then.

Hillarys unpaid bills. How can she care for the working people?

Tue Apr 15, 2008 at 05:55:16 AM PDT

In the last week Hillary has turned the narrative around to Obamas "bitter" comment. She and her campaign are riding high celebrating a "second wind" as someone said. An ad is out to proclaim Obama elitist.
Who is paying for the ad running in Pa? Who isnt getting paid because it is running?

This is getting ridiculous

From the L.A. Times, Hillary Clinton campaign stiffs her high school $3,161

Now, it looks from new Federal Election Commission filings that Clinton's campaign had $8.7 million in outstanding debt at the end of last month.  Ouch!  And that included $3,361 owed to Maine South High School in Park Ridge, Ill., for renting the Watson Auditorium and for catering.

Hillary Rodham graduated from there in 1965.

On the eve of Super Tuesday on Feb. 5, Clinton staged a big town hall meeting from the Maine South High School auditorium that was broadcast nationally on the Hallmark Channel, allowing supporters across the country to ask questions live.  Maybe you saw it.  Millions did.

But campaigns move on. And her alma mater is still awaiting its money.

I'm So Tired, I Can't Stop Running

Thu Mar 20, 2008 at 07:36:48 PM PDT

I'm at home, and while home does not quite look like a bomb went off, it's still chaos.  My mother, who had her flu shot last October, has caught this latest strain, and is now taking bed rest, Guaifenex, hot tea, and Hall's cough drops.  What was just the flu last Saturday is now a full-blown assault on her body, complete with chest congestion, vomiting spells, fever, and a complete lack of appetite.

Sen. Clinton's fiscal responsibility: actions over words

Sat Feb 23, 2008 at 10:19:21 AM PDT

Many Americans have big issues around debt; and these issues are reflected in how some of our leaders manage their political organizations.  The basic philosphy is this:  spend now and worry about paying later.  This is the great gift of the Bush years; just a reflection of what we have done on a micro level with our own household finances.
