A Narrow History of Dollar Hegemony: Hudson's Super Imperialism

(Crossposted at Docudharma)
I thought that a discussion of Hudson's book book would be pertinent in terms of recent discussions of indebtedness and in terms of Hudson's role in the run-up to next year's elections.
Michael Hudson's site says he is "President of the Institute for the Study of Long-Term Economic Trends (ISLET), A Wall Street Financial Analyst, Distinguished Research Professor of Economics at the University of Missouri, Kansas City and author of Super Imperialism: The Economic Strategy of American Empire (1972 and 2003) and of The Myth of Aid (1971).
In 2007, Dr. Hudson has been appointed Chief Economic Policy Adviser for the Kucinich for President campaign and is writing a new tax policy for the United States.
Iraq and Dollar Hegemony: my analysis
Sun Jan 28, 2007 at 03:44:39 PM PDT
This diary seeks to question: why haven't we heard any more analysis about how the war against Iraq is being paid-for out of a situation called "dollar hegemony," wherein the US manufactures dollars and the rest of the world manufactures the things dollars buy. My guess is that if dollar hegemony ends, the war ends too, for the US will then no longer be able to pay for the war. Am I right or wrong? I'm not really a specialist in this stuff, but as someone who cares about the world, I'm obliged to guess at what is really going on here. At any rate, I can no longer believe in the "merely political" analyses of this war, as the invasion and occupation of Iraq were based on economic and political rationales that use the US government as a conduit for the interests of fraction of global capital.
Stirling Newberry is a Pompous Jackass

[Please recommend this diary. After Stirling's bullshit attack, its only fair that I get to respond.]
Stirling, Stirling, Stirling.......
You might consider reading a post before you attempt to rip it apart. Ironically, your post entitled "bulldog manifesto craps on the facts" is shining example of how to defecate on facts. After reading your post, I am left to wonder a few things:
- Did you even read my post?
- Why did you choose to take such a rude tone?
- How much money do you have tied up in the United States market?
So let's begin, shall we?
