Being paid Millions to say stupid stuff
Sun Jul 13, 2008 at 12:46:20 PM PDT
I don't know about you but I need a rant right about now. This mornings talking heads have finally pushed me over the edge. I don't know if it's jealousy or not but I have had it with people being paid millions of Dollars to say stupid stuff. Stupid stuff I define as information we in the blogosphere know to be false but would face the full fury of the right if we actually accused these folks of out and out lying.

mcjoan has the information and links that document the threat to our national security. These documents reinforce the importance of these fixes to the FISA bill.
Massive fixes aren't going to come to this legislation with the Congress we have now. But we can't let the perfect become the enemy of the at-least-better-than-the Protect America Act. That means (1) NO telco immunity, (2) NO basket warrants or reverse targeting, (3) sequestration of illegally harvested evidence, and (4) a 4 year sunset.

Park Bench that is.
With all the complaining you've done in the last 3 months one gets the distinct impression you've reached burnout and maybe just maybe you need to consider early retirement.

Chris Dodd's Homer Simpson Moment Today
Wed Aug 29, 2007 at 04:08:02 PM PDT
Homer Simpson is the Patriarch of the long running cartoon Sitcom, on the post nuclear "Nuclear family". As viewers of the series would attest to the creators have created a recurring plot device displaying what goes on in side Homers Mind. When Homer says something stupid; even for Homer; we the audience hear the little voice go "Did I just say that out loud??".

As has been written here the Wilson's case was thrown out today. So they have been wronged the Criminal court system failed, the civil court system slammed the door in their faces. Now what, in the past the congress has passed or is the process of passing legislation to compensate victims such as the Japanese Americans subjected to Internment during WWII and Agent Orange Victims.

Winning WWII vs. GWOIF (GWOT)
As we move into this Memorial day I thought this is as good a time as any to ask an important question.
Is the Right capable of unthinkable, is the Right prepared to incinerate cities to protect their(our) way life?
I ask this in order to force the Right to admit their true intentions that The Global War on Islamic-Fascism (GWOIF) / Global War on Terror (GWOT) is simply a way to get oil.
Being a grownup-Wanting vs Accepting
Thu May 03, 2007 at 09:46:15 AM PDT
The folks on the right use the phrase Want seemingly as a blunt instrument. How can you Want a Civil War. Why do you Want to loose in Iraq. We need a counter meme and that word is Accept

In the wake of the atrocities caused by ENRON, MCI and other corporations congress passed sweeping audit and certification requirements. This law named in honor of it's sponsors Senator Paul Sarbanes (D-Md.) and Representative Michael G. Oxley (R-Oh.) is Sarbanes-Oxley aka SarBox or SOX in the business world. In the last week or so when it was announced that there would be musical chairs with several of the generals and Admirals in the context of the war I had posted comments on this site regarding having the senate deny them promotions.
